Tired, confused, and out of the loop
Good gravy, it’s been a long time since our last update. Last weekend was our last Park Ave Fest as actual residents of the neighborhood. The party on Friday was probably the most fun party we’ve had at our place, so I’m glad she went out with a bang. Don J made a point to say “I trust the beer will be cleaned off the walls before I move in.” Yup, it was that kind of party.

Saturday, we went over to the Thing’s for their Park Ave Fest event. It was also Mike F’s surprise 30th birthday party. It was a great time. The highlight was watching (and heckling) our friends play “urban bocce.” This is just like regular bocce, but with sidewalks, driveways, and for sale signs involved.
This week has been spent doing our final moving out and cleaning of the apartment, finishing up jury duty (don’t you worry, we sent tons of people up the river), and working on the house. I can’t wait until things get a little more settled at the house. Considering we’ve been there two weeks, the place is still a disaster. Saturday, we realized the pilot light on our hot water heater had gone out. Pat lit it again, but it just kept going out. This week it has gone out consistently every few hours. Pat did some research, deduced that it was our thermocouple that was to blame, and we replaced that bitch ourselves! It was very empowering. I feel like, after accomplishing that household repair, we can do just about anything. When we woke up this morning, the pilot light was still on and the burner was working and all that good stuff. Hells yeah. Hopefully that solved the problem.
Monday is Pat’s and my one-year anniversary. We were considering renewing our vows in our new backyard, with Cima officiating, but I’m not sure it’s going to happen. Things are just kind of busy around here. If we do, we’ll make sure to post pictures.
Peace out, yo.

Here is the conversation that took place over IM between myself and Cimicata when I asked him to officiate at our vow renewal. I think they're perfect; I wouldn't change a thing.
LMNKfran: Pat and I want to renew our vows in our new backyard and have you officiate
LMNKfran: what do you think?
theOraculum: hmmm
theOraculum: i think i might be qualified for that
theOraculum: rev. C-Dawg
LMNKfran: should we write our own vows, or do you have your own we should use?
theOraculum: hehe, you wouldn't want to leave that to me
theOraculum: "do you francisco del-Franico promise to cook eggs, bacon and waffles for Pat each and every morning of his natural life?"
LMNKfran: lol
theOraculum: "will you love and cherish him into L, XL and even XXL sized underwear?"
theOraculum: "will you rememeber to tape all his favorite TV shows when he is out of town on business?"
LMNKfran: perfect
theOraculum: "AND PAT"
theOraculum: "will you promise to work out 3-5 times a week doing curls and bench presses in order to perfect your alcohol induced cirque du soliel performances with Fran?"
theOraculum: "will you promise to never read a map and always listen to 80's metal cassette tapes while trying to locate a bar or restaurant in a shitty area of town?"
theOraculum: "will you remember to put away your mustaches after every party and clean up all sticky fran-i-makazee juice stuck to the counter?"
LMNKfran: I'm cryin' over here
theOraculum: then with the power invested in me by the church of latter day cimicatas, i prounouce you awsome
theOraculum: you may grab nasty with your tramp
theOraculum: i think you can just cut + paste that to pnf.com and have people sign thier approval. Like a love petition
LMNKfran: there you go
