As I've been saying all day, "Holy crap! We bought a house." Yup, we started our house search on Saturday and, here it is Thursday, and we have a house. Well, sort of.
Saturday, we had our buyer's agent come over and ask us a bunch of questions about what we wanted in a house. Monday, we looked at two "crack shacks" as I told my mom. Tuesday, we looked at our "dream home." Wednesday, Pat looked at a house, and then we went back to said dream home and put in an offer. Thursday morning, we heard back that said offer was accepted, with just a few contingencies. It's just too unreal.
Pat and I went there last night to take one last really close look around and to place our offer. Our agent said she likes to take a picture of her clients in the house in case they get it, so they can send it to friends and family members. We had her take two: one of us looking happy and one of us looking sad - just in case we didn't get it. Well, she emailed us this morning with a subject line "Cheer up," and I open the email and I see she put the frowny-faced picture in it. I thought for sure they turned down the offer and I almost puked. But it's all good.
Pat and I are still quite concerned about all of the things that can happen between now and closing, but for all intents and purposes, the house is ours, kinda, but not really.
It's in Brighton, and it has four bedrooms, a dining room, living room, family room, huge kitchen, one-and-a-half baths, and all of the appliances are included. And seriously, it's so nice that I feel ridiculous moving our ratty-assed orange furniture and ragga-muffin kids into this palace. Maybe this is that extra step Pat and I need to class ourselves up a bit. You know it's been on our to-do list.
Here's "our" house

Just at a glance, I'd guess that you could fit about eight of my apartments into your new house. But the joke's on you, because you don't get to walk outside and nod "howdy" to a screaming bum with his pants around his knees the way I do.
Congratulations!

Re: Amy
P.Reed and I are booked this weekend, but I set something up with Cimicata for us to get Monte Cristo sangwiches on Thursday. Awww yeeaaaah.
Re: Ian
Maybe you didn't know, but Pat Reed and I are independently wealthy. We're also extremely smart and good looking, so things like great houses fall into our laps on a daily basis.
Re: Emily "Boobs Double Dee"
I'm a little nervous about jinxing ourselves, so we definitely won't be planning any house-warming parties until after closing. That's fo sheezy. After that though, you better believe that No Limit Inc. will be up in our heezy.
Re: Courtney
According to our contractual agreement, we close on or before June 30. Until then, I'll be a nervous wreck.
Re: Vienneau
Yeah, that kitchen is probably six times the size of the current one. I think we'll adjust to the increase in size by doing lots of Cirque de Soleil, until we can really get an accurate gasp of its dimensions. (Err, I mean, I ran out of funny.)

What the heck?! How did you guys get such a nice house? Granted, I have not been looking for houses, but if I were, that's what I'd be looking for, and Brighton is just about where I'd want it to be.
