As we mentioned before, the Dr.s' Thing are practicing medicine on the island of St. Lucia for six weeks. We are excited to announce that the Dr.s have agreed to be the official PatAndFran.com St. Lucia correspondents while they are on location. They will be doing periodic updates so our readers can stay current with any late-breaking St. Lucian news. The Ts will also be giving us reports on weather, nightlife, and 3rd world diseases.

Hello from sunny St. Lucia!!!!!!!!!!!

85 and really hot and humid during the day, breezy and 72 at night. We've been here for 3 days and are getting used to the way the hospital operates. We went to an old sugar plantation last night for one of the best meals I have ever had. For those of you that have seen it, this plantation was right out of that little town on Big Fish. There are lots of stray dogs and goats running around, and they served us "turkey" for lunch, although I haven't seen any turkeys running around yet, so we have started calling it "mystery meat surprise" and it doesn't really taste like chicken. I also have a new favorite beer called "Pitons" named after the twin, breast-shaped mountains for which this island is famous. I'm trying to arrange a tour, since the brewery is about 1/4 mile from the hospital and the hospital sells us cases at wholesale. You know, the hospitals in Rochester could learn a thing or two down here. I hope everyone is well and misses us a lot. Oh yeah, today, my sunburn pain index is about 3/10, but yesterday it was about 6/10 and worse when I wore my stethoscope around my neck. Melissa's is probably at its peak today, probably 5/10. WE MISS YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-The Dr.s' Thing

Editor's note:
Erik mentioned offline that he is "developing a mean Speedo tan line" and he is seriously contemplating going commando for the rest of his time on the island. Melissa says, "The only place that I am not burnt is where the little clam shells were covering my nipples."

After having recently been on a beach that not only discourages, but does not allow bathing suits…personal areas not used to the sunlight will quickly adapt to the equatorial sunshine…hang tight guys, I would be more worried about that "mystery meat."

I saw "clam shells" and "nipples" in the same sentence and yet I can't seem to find a link to the photograph??? I can't even find a link to where I can enter my credit card information so that I can access the members only "clamshell nip" super photo extravaganza.

Note to Eric: I have been "commando" for over 12 years now, and I highly recommend it. Once you give your little Thingvoll's room to roam, there no going back! Not even to boxers (that's if you wore tighty-whities before). Plus playing a little pocket-pool now and again is much more fun!
