Last night was an amazing night. I really was not expecting much from last night, but it turned out really great. I would like to start out by saying that I've just been in a pretty rotten mood lately. I've been working crazy hours and working my ass off when I am at work. I've been absolutely miserable. It's to the point where I can't even unwind during the weekends. I've been having work dreams even on Saturday night. Now, that's just sick. I've been a huge jerk to my baby's daddy and a lot of my friends. The first awful thing that pops into my head, I say. Things I don't even mean. I don't know how people have even put up with me lately. It's something I feel like I haven't been able to control.
And completely separate to this, Rochester got a huge ice storm. There have been a lot of trees and power lines down (no power lines down in the city because of the underground lines). Due to this ice storm, our plans fell through last night. Since P.Riddy and I can walk to the bars, of course we still went out. We got a hot tip that our friend Jarrod was out at the Old Toad, so we went there. He was indeed there with a couple friends. They had been drinking since 6 so after a couple drinks, they were ready to wrap things up. Naturally, Pat and I went down to Mex.
There, we saw our friends George, Kevin, and Dr. Al. We were chatting with them and then my old friend from college, Susan, walked in the door. She came in with two guys. One of the guys we had met a week before, and he's friends with our friends Mike F and Josh. The other guy, we found out, is the new guy our friend Debbie is dating! It's those kind of Magnolia moments that I love and they make me feel so happy and at home.
On the walk home, we decided to stop by our friends J.D. and Matt's house because the light was on. J.D. automatically opens beers and hand them to us. Now, two things I really like about myself are that I can fall asleep really fast and that I can always tell when I need to say "when". I knew, based on my beer-by-beer deadly accurate basis, that I should not have had another beer. Usually I'm good about saying "no thanks," but J.D. had already opened it, so I graciously accepted. We laughed a lot and called Mike F and I fell down and then I realized I was going to be sick. I told Pat and I needed to leave, so we did. It's a very short walk to our place from there, but it was such a cool walk.
It was so eerie and quiet and there were a lot of trees that had a lot more limbs down than when we walked past them the first time. We actually witnessed a big branch fall on one car and then we got to our street and saw that some decent-sized branches hit Pat's old hooptie, which was fun to see. If you haven't seen Ice Storm, you must either rent it or borrow it from us. It's great.
When we got home I promptly puked. All things considered, it was a great night and I was actually able to forget about work for a while and I don't think I was mean to anyone. If anyone is still reading this saga, you've got too much time on your hands. Tee-hee.
